Dr. Levin’s very broad training in environmental engineering included minors in chemistry and public health. As a result, he was able to do applied research and engineering in a wide variety of subject areas, including water supply, saline water conversion, wastewater treatment, air pollution, microbial detection and identification, antibiotics, biochemistry, pesticides, oceanography, radioisotopic tracers, space biology, bioremediation, prevention of contamination, biological and chemical warfare detection, epidemiology, pharmaceutical drug development, low-calorie sweeteners, control of obesity, and longevity.
